The final of the 2021 Subway Series between the Yankees and Mets brought with them the excitement that led to their reservation at ESPN’s “Sunday Night Baseball”.
Francisco Lindor rose from the left. Then he got up on the right side. Giancarlo Stanton washed the benches with a homer and watched as Mets approached. Brett Gardner moved a lot for the Mets. Lindor then wrapped it with another homer on a piece of Mets history.
After Lindor’s night, the Mets said the Subway Series this year, won four of the six games they competed against on Sunday 7-6.

The playoffs began on Saturday. According to ESPN’s Buster Olney, the Mets believe the Yankees realized the Mets founder Taijuan Walker was throwing his fields and was whistling at the strikers.
According to Marly Rivera of ESPN, Mets basman third Jonathan Villar said he called an island meeting Saturday night because he believed the Yankees used different whistles on different legs when Aaron Judge hit.
When Lindor was thrown in the sixth Sunday, his second ball night, to advance the Mets to 6-4, he spoke to the Yankees’ dugout, imitating a whistle as he circled the pitch.

Lindor said after the game that he wasn’t 100% sure the Yankees were stealing the flags but he felt something was wrong, all the while they were mingling about “The Last Dance.”

In the next Inning, Stanton smashed a home run twice to tie the game 6-6, He walked slowly on his hammer with Lindor, which made the dambers clear.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said after the game that Stanton and Lindor’s exchange was the way his team responded, according to Bob Todayengale of USA Today.
“You guys saw Lindor as he walked around,” Boone said. “We’re back a bit. The boys will be the boys.”
Stanton denied that the Yankees were stealing signs. But Lindor had one last laugh. He shot himself in his third field at night, becoming the fourth Mets player to score three home games – joining Robinson Cano, Lucas Duda and Kirk Nieuwenhuis. Homer No. 3 put Mets on top 7-6.
The Yankees made two runners-up to secure a ninth place against the Mets next to Edwin Diaz, but Diaz came out on top to beat the Mets.
And, finally, Stanton came out to Lindor.
