2 Ways to Hide Images and Privacy in Google Images


Google has announced that it is bringing “Live Folder” to Google Images app for all users. In the past the interface was limited to Pixel devices only. With this announcement, the publication of a form that hides your private photos in a password-protected folder starts for all users. In this article, I am going to tell you how to use this form to hide your private photos and passwords and one bonus point to do the same.

Hide Images Is a Secret

There are a number of features available on the Apple Store and Play Store that allow you to hide your sensitive media behind a locked folder. However, here we are talking about Google Phots because most users use this app and we will see another way to do this.

Install the Google Photos Live Folder

To move your photos to this folder, you need to set them first. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Photos app on your phone.

2. Now, click “Library” from the bottom options.

3. On the next page, click “Help” from the top.

4. Here you will see the “Lock Folder” option under the ‘Organize Library’ section. Click on it.

5. Now click “Set Up Folder Folder” and then follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

You will be prompted to enter your password or locked password and set as Screen Lock key.

Save Photos to Closed Folder

When you set up a Closed Folder, you also need to know how to move your photos to this folder later.

  1. Go to the Pictures tab and select the photos you want to hide.

2. In the upper right corner, click on the three dot images.

3. From the menu, select “Go to Closed Folder” and then click “Save”.

Now your photos will be moved to the folder and you will need to use your password to view them.

Save directly from Pixel camera to Closed Folder

You can also set up this seamless system to save your camera photos on Pixel and Android phones. Follow this:

1. Open the camera app on your Pixel phone.

2. In the top right corner, click “Photo Gallery” and then select “Lock Folder”.

That’s all, now take a picture and it will be saved in the Live Folder.

You can save all your photos and videos to the Closed Folder and be protected by a password. The information stored in this folder does not appear on the Photos, Memory, or Search page. Also, this does not apply to other programs with images.

Bonus Tip: Google Photos Archive

There is another way to hide your photos in Google Photos. In this way it also hides your personal photos in search, memory and other applications, but there is only one that is not protected by passwords.

However, you can still use features like “Lock Folder” before accessing your phone. Follow the steps below to add photos to the Archive folder:

1. Open the Google Photos app and from the Photos page, select the photos you want to hide.

2. You can draw and save the images to select a few images later, by clicking on the three dots in the right-hand corner.

3. Now from the menu, click “Archive”.

That’s right. These images will now be moved to the Archive section. You can view them by going to Library -> Archive. And if you want to remove any images from there, just click and hold to select “Storage” from these options by clicking on three dots.
