Rangers defender Connor Goldson will miss Saturday’s Scottish Premiership and St Johnstone games as he is isolated, says Steven Gerrard.
Gersard boss Gerrard was forced to miss a game against Alashkert and Celtic because he was isolated after the Covid-19 bombing of the club.
“It’s not good and I don’t want to see it again,” Gerrard said. “I didn’t come here to sit in a room and look away. It was a whole different story than this.”
Commenting on Goldson’s absence, Gerrard added: “He is very strong and has been very important since day one for me.
“I would love to be with him but unfortunately we have to do what we have to do.
“Fortunately we have good choices that we hope to succeed and do well in his absence.”
Ianis Hagi was ruled out of Saturday’s World Cup qualifier against Romania, but Calvin Bassey, James Tavernier, Allan McGregor and Scott Wright have returned after the controversy.
