Gerwyn Price and Wales started defending the World Cup of Darts by defeating Finland (Kais Bodensieck, / PDC Europe)
It was a success for the big names on the eve of the opening World Cup of Darts in Germany as the Welsh champions led all four seed in the last 16 – with two new teams from the Netherlands and Scotland also heading to Saturday.
The 11th round of the tournament kicks off in Jena, and the Welshmen Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton, who love to keep the title in contention, have been a solid nut to break after a 5-2 win over Finland on Thursday night in Jena.
Tough trials await the two Welsh winners of the World Championship, The Masters, Premier League and six Pro and European Tour titles between them. since he threw England at the final at the end of last year.

Michael Van Gerwen’s quest for the first World Cup of Darts without Raymond van Barneveld got off to a good start when he joined Dirk van Duijvenbode in a 5-1 win over Denmark.

Paul & Harith Lim hit 108 and 116 on the way out for Singapore to win back Gibraltar in the World Cup of Darts.
After wrestling in a number of competitions, including missing their first 13 double shots, the two in Singapore finished well as 51-year-old Harith Lim took 108 to equalize and Paul Lim – 67 years younger – sealed with 116 points.

“It means the world to me and Damo, our hearts are on hand and Kyle’s name is in our hands.”
Simon Whitlock and Damon Heta say they are not playing for Australia but Kyle Anderson has also been promoted to the World Cup of Darts.

“History for four players, you hear Sedlacek and Gawlas come out playing very well – but they will continue to learn, but Poland have proven to be a threat and with Scotland coming in it looks like a competition,” he said.

The Czech Republic have not won a game at the World Cup, but the fast-moving two Adam Gawlas and Karel Sedlacek are expected to go far – however, they came up against Poland, which provided the opening show of the night.
World No 11 Krzysztof Ratajski was the target, with 122 in the final 5-2 win that saw the average Pole 105 for 103 opponents – the Czech time is coming, not this year and the Poli and the team are terrified.
