As one of the sci-fi articles ever written, Frank Herbert’s 1965 Book Dune has promoted the best science fiction films ever made, including an adult: Star Wars. But trying to convert Dune itself in the video did not go according to plan. (See: Jodorowsky River, the story of the vain attempt of the director Alejandro Jodorowsky to agree with Herbert’s words. But Denis Villeneuve is a different artist, as we have seen The enemy, Arrive, and Blade Runner 2049. His well-known form of filmmaking has helped him to succeed when others have failed, and he has transformed the most difficult of subjects into a simple, viable, scientific gemstone. All of this can be said for its interpretation Dune, a very interesting film that can be as intelligent as it is amazing — and many more to come.

Kristen Stewart is flexible in this role, as she tries to get through the middle of doing what she is expected to do (such as Prince Charles’ wife and a member of the royal family) and keep her identity – when she knows better than Charles. she has a boyfriend … and she also bought him pearls that she bought for her masters. While the film is in line with reality, all of Diana’s feelings of being trapped and deprived of her power and the environment in which she was married seem to be true with what we know about her plight. The film was released in 1991, one year before Diana and Charles separated, and six years before her sudden death.

Oscar Isaac shines (no wonder then) as William Tell, a war veteran who has struggled to make ends meet by immersing himself in the world of gambling, traveling around the world to play blackjack and poker. Along the way he meets and interacts with a young man named Cirk (Tye Sheridan), who asks William to help him get his army back (Willem Dafoe). As Cirk tells William more about the situation, as well as his intentions, William has no choice but to think that his relationship with Cirk could be an opportunity for redemption. The film was written and directed by Paul Schrader, and basically plays the same script for sin and redemption that many Schrader experienced. Although The Card Counter feels like one of the few things the Schrader man seems to be interested in in redemption.

The film, written and directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi, tells the story of Yusuke Kafuku, a widower (Hidetoshi Nishijima) who, two years after his wife’s death, agrees to stay for two months to lead a play in Hiroshima. . Dev Patel presents a new version of Arthurian myth through author-director David Lowery (Miss Juneteenth). Patel plays the role of Sir Gawain, King Arthur’s unwavering nephew, who rises above his weight as he risks his life by volunteering to embark on a journey to meet Green Knight. It is a dangerous job, but Gawain who has the opportunity is determined to present himself as a fearless warrior. Although it adheres (mostly) to the writings of Arthurian mythology, Lowery is not afraid to use laziness and turn the “hero back” on his head.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, Oscar nominee, is another actress who excelled in 2021. The Lost Daughter, based on Elena Ferrante’s book, by Gyllenhaal. A notable feature of the film is that Leda (Olivia Colman), a professor of literature on holidays in Greece, regularly interviewed Nina (Dakota Johnson), a young woman who admitted that she sometimes struggles with child rearing. Without giving much of the past, Leda tells Nina that she understands. But even though women live on the coast of Greece, it always feels like the walls are closing and that something bad can happen at any moment. The video is a testament to Gyllenhaal’s understanding of how to penetrate the audience’s head — and stay there.

Paul Thomas Anderson could have the most talented video of any director working today. After 12 years behind the camera in another film, Jane Campion came back with a vengeance. The Power of the Dog. Benedict Cumberbatch will no doubt be the leader in playing against a race like the evil Phil Burbank, a rich tycoon who likes to get his hands dirty with his bullshit, even if it means losing the bull. He is a dangerous man, for sure, very different from his brother George (Jesse Plemons), who often seems to apologize to Phil for waking up his brother. When George marries a widow named Rose (Kirsten Dunst) and brings her home to live with him, Phil appears to be in the grip of a never-ending cycle. But when his son Peter (Will Smit-McPhee) comes to visit them in the summer, Phil slowly seems to be taking the boy under his wings. It is impossible to summarize the film in a clear and complete way, considering its deep lines, but suffice it to say that in all of Phil’s tragic events, there is something – hidden, but very dangerous – on his part. story.
