A Florida aid worker that led to the suspicion of a suspected drug dealer – a man on bail for a drug trafficking case, according to police – was caught on video dash camera released Thursday.
Brian Potters and Tyler Thoman, superintendent and office of the Brevard County Sheriff, were inspecting the road on August 30 near Melbourne, about 70 miles southeast of Orlando, when they were caught and shot, according to Sheriff Wayne Ivey, who released a video recording of the incident.
In his remarks, the sheriff said the attack and ambush were carried out by a “cruel, pirate” man who had a history of crimes including 40 counts of drug trafficking, aggravated assault with a firearm, a battery to a police officer, and attempted murder of the first person.
Both dashcams recorded the entire event, which lasted about a minute.

In the video, Deputy Thoman can be seen talking to a woman outside her car about a two-year-old baby and a dog in the back, while a passenger is resting in the back of the car. The victim, whose name has not been released, is sitting in the back seat of the car, according to police.
When Potters asked him to get out of the car, the suspect started firing and settled in front of the car, putting the baby in danger, according to Ivey, who witnessed the shooting. At about the same time the suspect appears to have been injured in a police fire, Potters was heard saying he had been shot.
Ivey said the suspect attacked Potters in the back as his ministers moved to the side of a police car after being shot with a shotgun, hitting him on the head with his weapon before he fell to the ground.
Thoman then opened fire, injuring her as a result of the shooting. Potters was shot in the leg and suffered head injuries, muscle damage, and bone loss, according to the sheriff’s department.
Ivey said two people standing outside the house had nothing to do with the shelters.
According to him, there were a total of 61 shots.
As the law enforcement officer said, “Undoubtedly, this man got what he deserved,” he then replied to those who would be critical of the shooting, “and those who would be foolish to ask why we shot him so many times, the answer is simple: evil cannot be dead enough. . ”
