‘New Game +’ is a bad name but offers a lot of good


Whatever to do – travel the game comes with its own burning style. The struggle is skillfully made; weapons and equipment — from health promotion to special bombs and traps — abound. Many were created with the intention of players swapping between melee and various battles, depending on the fights they might have. It’s beautiful.

But for button makers, carefully crafted systems are useless. For wrestlers like me, the game’s “way” – if it can be mentioned – is a mixture of adrenaline, fear, and anxiety. If there is a weapon that should be used in a real war, you can count on me to ignore it unless victory is impossible without it. If a war requires more than one button (perhaps two, if we are talking about different wars), there is a good chance that I will not be able to finish. If I can’t throw a plastic bag to win, I step on the floor to find another problem.

That all changed a few weeks ago when I started Horizon Zero Dawn in New Games +. For those of you who may not know it, this is the section that gives you the opportunity to start a new game, but with all your tools, skills, and other accomplishments from your first victory. It’s a bad name, but a good form – and once I start a refreshing game (I’m getting ready Horizon Forbidden Westthe release of 2022), provided a new way to learn to play.

The first time I played Horizon Zero Dawn, my fight was not appropriate for Aloy. I used melee more often than I used to (although melee fighting is one of the poorest of the games) and I had no trouble seeing the weaknesses of the enemies. Some of this was worrying, but more than that, Zero Dawn it has an amazing story and I was curious to know how it ended. The long struggle made it very difficult and time consuming for me to get where I wanted to go.

Starting in New Games +, let me start at level 55 with my old weapons. I was invincible. So I was not intimidated when the machine rushed at me. And weapon protection means I can hit a little harder and test different weapons and techniques. Oh, and because the New Games + game was so modified (no training), I was not patient to get to the end.

It turned out that New Game + was a great opportunity for me to better understand playing Horizon Zero Dawn. The tools gave me the confidence I needed to figure out how Tripcaster worked or use Ropecaster to tie up the Glinthawks so I could defeat them in time (you’ve had them. no idea how hard it is to kill if you rely on melee war).

If you are serious about learning how to play any game, this may seem silly. But the fact is, Horizon Zero Dawn it is difficult even in the simplest of settings. Getting more and more opportunities for New Game + helped me to appreciate the ins and outs of how the theme should be played.

This is why I support the principles of immortality in video games. After you die 20 times just trying to figure out how to use the weapon, you become so confident that you think “I’ll just run and start shaking!” rather than gaining experience in this kind of war. If you are developing complex weapons and want more people to use them, then giving people more confidence through immortality or New Game + is not just a good idea – it is a lifesaver.
