Guinea’s ousted president is in good health, Ecowas said

Guinea’s ousted president Alpha Condé is in good health, according to West African Ecowas leaders.

His delegates went to Condé, who was Imprisoned in Guinea last Friday.

He also met with coup leaders, including their senior Lieutenant Colonel Mamady Doumbouya.

“President Alpha Condé is OK,” Ecowas President Jean-Claude Kassi Brou said after meeting the 83-year-old at the headquarters of the coup d’état.

The Ecowas and the African Union have suspended Guinea, wants to return to the constitution and demand the release of Condé.

The new leaders promised to establish a change government but did not say how or when it would happen.

He blamed Condé for the rampant corruption and human rights abuses.

He became unpopular after changing the law to run for a third term as president.
