EU’s Sefcovic concludes Northern Ireland trip with ‘hope’

BELFAST, Sept 10 (Reuters) – European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic says two days of talks to ease the crisis over the future Brexit agreement in Northern Ireland is “hopeful” and pledge to do nothing with the British government this month.

“I’m leaving … eagerly,” Sefcovic told reporters in Belfast on Friday.

“We will continue to be tired of the UK in September. But a spirit of tolerance must be a force for good.” (Author Amanda Ferguson and Philip Blenkinsop; Author Conor Humphries; by James Davey)
