Fujimori, who voted last month after winning a presidential election, has been charged with money laundering in Odebrecht, a Brazilian company.

The 46-year-old daughter of former prison president Alberto Fujimori denies this.
But the judges said they had asked Fujimori to serve 30 years and 10 months in prison on charges of embezzlement, lawlessness, misconduct and fraud.
He had already been detained twice, spending 16 months in prison until his release last year from a coronavirus outbreak.
The case, which was opened Tuesday in the presence of Judge Victor Zuniga, is the first in a series of high-profile cases involving Peru’s Odebrecht fraud.
He is expected to reconsider the case of Fujimori and the 39 defendants, after which the judge may agree with all or part of the case in which the prosecutor, Jose Domingo Perez, is being tried.
The accused are Fujimori’s men, American Mark Vito Villanella, and other former members or leaders of his Popular Force Party – a well-known Peruvian politician, but he is now the second-largest member of parliament after the Free Castillo coup.
Fujimori was not in court Tuesday, instead with his lawyer Giuliana Loza.
Given his previous release from prison, Fujimori is not allowed to leave Lima without special permission, or to contact witnesses in the case.
Early listening can take days, weeks or months.
Four former leaders have been affected by Odebrecht’s case, including two-year-old leader Alan Garcia, who committed suicide in 2019 after police arrived at his home to arrest him.
Alberto Fujimori is in jail on separate charges for corruption and human rights offenses.
