Nikola shows off his world’s first electric car: ‘It’s true!’

I promise, it’s real. ”Laughed Nikola’s great joke Mark Russell, standing under a photograph of the company’s first car operating in a factory in Ulm, Germany.

This is the first time this group has been there is accused of fraud by a temporary seller Last year, and he found himself showing a video of one of his accomplishments by rolling himself on a mountain, that Russell had something important to show the world – a white, heavy-duty Tre electric car, built by Italian manufacturer Iveco.

Depending on the material, it can travel more than 550km on a single tree “in good location”, said Iveco and Nikola. Journalists were given a ride on a nearby trail.

But the hype that mimicked the performances of founder Nikola Trevor Milton, who is now charged from US prosecutors to mislead investors in the industry and its expertise.

We are going very carefully, slowly, deliberately, ”Russell told the Financial Times. More than 50 cars have been delivered to customers this year, he said, half of what Nikola had already considered.

The number, he warned, could be reduced if “touchscreen, battery-operated semiconductors, all of which are short-lived in the world.“.

The deal with Iveco – which includes plans for a hydrogen truck car that was unveiled on Wednesday, but will not start production until 2023 – has become a key part of Nikola’s business, with General Motors reducing its partnership with the company, making plans for a more portable car.

The Ulm site, which was not used for the production of fire trucks was exported, but was also powered by Iveco for this purpose, could produce 3,000 units of vehicles each year if used properly, by Gerrit Marx, Iveco’s chief of staff.

The companies also signed an agreement with the port of Hamburg, to supply 25 electric vehicles to Tre in 2022. The port of Long Beach, California, has already signed a letter requesting the import of vehicles.

In the meantime, 12 trucks made at the 50,000-meter plantations in Ulm will all be shipped to the US, before the European translation (which is different in length and roundabouts) before the 2023. Another plant will open in Arizona next month.

Marx was adamant that this time Nikola’s Iveco counterpart was not looking at his potential. “What you see today can make,” he said, defending Iveco’s idea of continuing to work with the company.

“I can’t do this alone because Iveco, which is a big car, is the second smallest car [manufacturer]. We have no pockets, no more technical programming that Nikola has, no more electrical power integration, [or] management skills. ”

In June, Scott Wine, head of CNH, owned by Iveco, adauza FT that he was not a “lover” Nikola before he started the job, and when he met the company in the past “he was not happy with what [he] he found ”. But he added that the agreement “supported each other”.

Marx said Iveco wants to “win and” surpass “larger competitors,” we can’t beat them “, and they need Nikola, who” can hire people and write money that I can’t attract “.

However, Nikola, who was introduced via Spac in June 2020, and saw him as superior to Ford despite not selling a single car, now “really wants” more money, says Russell, with less than a year to go.

He earned € 300m from the business deal earlier this year and wants to get more out of the market “when the time is right”.

Russell acknowledged that Nikola had not been easy to convince people to make money as the group had previously written.

“There has been a rapid decline in the number of companies that go public through special mergers,”told FT, adding that if Nikola were still looking to raise money this year, “it would be possible for us”.

Asked how he would be able to extort money from those who are experiencing difficulties, it is Nikola’s plight that has brought this about, Russell said the start is simply “just watching and doing”.

But the senior speaker allowed himself for a while. “We are very fast mammals and [traditional competitors] and a giant dinosaur, strong and crawling at sea, very large. ”
