A music festival in Bonnaroo in Tennessee has been suspended due to flooding from hurricane Ida, which was Tropical Depression Ida by the time it hit the state on Tuesday. The four-day festival was set to begin on Thursday with headliners like Foo Fighters, Run the Jewels, Tyler the Creator, Lizzo, Tame Impala, and Megan Thee Stallion, among many others.
“We are very sorry to announce that we should stop Bonnaroo. Although this week’s season looks good, by now Centeroo is flooded in many places, the ground is surprisingly flooded on our toll roads, and parking lots are flooded to the point where we can’t drive or park safely, ”said the second song holiday.
“We have done our best to keep the show going, but Ms. Nature has given us a lot of rain in the last 24 hours, and we have left ways to make the event more secure and in line with what happened in Bonnaroo,” the article continued.
“Please find ways to reunite with your team in Bonnaroo to continue to show hope during this time of crisis. SEE YOU ON JUNE 2022 FARM! ”Bonnaroo tweeted.
The festival has been in the spotlight recently with organizers announcing that attendees will need to show evidence of a malignant coronavirus or malignant covid-19 to enter celebrations. The US has been on the rise in covid-19 cases in recent weeks, with more than 157,000 new cases on Tuesday alone. But Tennessee has been hit hard by more than 9,000 cases Tuesday, the highest number the government has ever seen since December 2020.
People who had already arrived in Tennessee for Bonnaroo from the second country Tuesday went on TV to express their last-minute frustrations.
“The look of months of preparation that goes into the suspension yesterday is annoying,” one person said he wrote.
“I think it’s time to turn my car around and go back to Florida lmao,” he wrote china.
The festival promises that those who ordered their tickets through those who approved the festival will be reimbursed in about a month. Some people who bought tickets through non-traditional means may be unlucky, especially if you bought them from a local businessman.
“All tickets purchased through Front Gate Tickets will be refunded in less than 30 days for payment,” Bonnaroo added Tuesday.
